May 14, 2020. #3. i just made a post asking about this, my car has an egr delete done to it, but it looks like they removed nothing more than the egr pipe itself and put a block off plate on the egr cooler and the bottom of the "shudder valve" as you guys seem to call it. its actually a vacuum shut off device.
Verify the mechanical part of the Exhaust Valve Control Module (J883) is not seized or binding. When found in the 1.9 L TDI-PD (BLS): Check vacuum supply from the vacuum reservoir located in the valve cover for leaks. Using a vacuum gauge, wiggle the valve cover and hose connections to check for a leak. Delete nothing just go for custom remapping which solved trouble with those Parts. These are not for nothing on the engine. With the factory standard 1.6 TDI they are a common problem, however custom remapping works the best for those Parts to work properly.
