Is there any fault indication on the dash where the radio display is. Anti pollution is basically citroens way of saying emissions system so it could be as simple as a loose emissions pipe but from what you say and the car does not run it could be your catalytic converter (part of the exhaust system) has failed causing the engine management

Hi, As i had lot of trouble with my Audi a4 DPF getting blocked i though of helping others who have same problems. Here is the solution. 1) Take the car on a road where you can drive at 50mph for atleast 5 to 7 mins. Drive continuously for 5 to 7 mins at the sppeed pf 50mph in 4th gear at or above 2000 rpm.

You should reset (or get someone to reset) the ECU so it "knows" how much fluid is present. If the level was showing as zero before you filled it up then it will still behave as though the fluid needs filling up.
Tue 24 Jan 2017 13:00. Peugeot 308 - Anti pollution - Railroad. It amazes me that people seem to have an obsession with the EGR valve and think it's the cause of all sorts of problems. Its purpose is to reduce Oxides of Nitrogen (NOx), which is the harmful content of the exhaust. It does not serve any other purpose.

Answered by Keith Moody. This warning light could relate to any number of faults. Fixing it could be a case of just cleaning or replacing the air filter, but you could also find that you need to replace a sensor. You'll need to get it checked out by a garage that can read the fault code and ideally has some experience of dealing with this issue.
I have previously had the anti-pollution fault where the car goes into limp mode and I have managed to clear this by going on the motorway for several miles at 70mph in a low gear. The worst came yesterday when at a roundabout a warning came on the screen regarding the oil pressure and the car died.

It appears that this cat converter / anti pollution fault is a well. known citroen fault on 2000 to 2005 citroen c5 2.0 petrols so surely. citroen should do something about this and recall the car ?? or am I. asking too much.. This forum also mentions the sticking hydraulic.

Hello, it's been a while since I last posted since all was running fine for almost 2 years, but today I have had the check engine light come on with the 'Antipollution Faulty' message on the display. The car is still driving OK however. It's a 2010 1.6 PETROL 90bhp which is the most basic engine on these.
I own a 2003 C5 V6 Exclusive (Hatchback) and have had no end of trouble with "ANTI-POLLUTION FAULT". I had Coils replaced as there was an "inherent fault" with the originals . . .should have been a 'recall' of the model to rectify an "inherent fault". At present I have a burnt out Catalytic Converter, and the heap only has 74000 km on the clock !!!
Disconnecting the battery may reset the light, But it may still be stored and you wont know why the light came on. Windows, Radio etc maybe affected but so may the ECU it may run like a bag of bolts for 20 - 30 miles and not get full economy/performance back fpr a fair few miles after that.
